| MAY 1975 - Michael Slobodian 16, killed a teacher and
student and wounded 13 others at Centennial Secondary School in
Brampton Ontario before killing himself.
October 1978 - A 17 year old student shot a fellow 16 year old
student at Sturgeon Creek Regional Secondary School in Winnipeg,
Manitoba.
December 1989 - 25 year old Marc Lepine shot and killed 14 women
at the University of Montreal's Ecole Polytechnique Engineering
School in Montreal Quebec. The gunman then killed himself.
February 1990 - At General Brock High School in Burlington,
Ontario a teenager boy shot and wounded his former girlfriend.
June 1993 - At Gladstone Secondary School in Vancouver, BC a
drive-by shooting left a teenager seriously wounded outside the
school.
October 1997 - A 35 year old man shot and fatally wounded a 31
year old teacher at a Montreal, Quebec Immigration School. She had
been his French teacher 3 years earlier.
December 1997 - West Paducah, Kentucky - A 14 year old student at
Heath High School shot and killed 3 students and wounded 5 others.
He iwas found guilty and is serving a life sentence.
March 1998 - Jonesboro, Ark. - Two students aged 13 and 11 shoot
and kill four students and a teacher at Westside Middle School. Both
students remain in custody.
May 1998 - Springfield, Oregon - 17 year old Kip Kinkel shot and
killed two teenagers and wounded 20 other people at his high school.
He is currently serving a 112 year sentence.
April 1999 - 12 Students and a teacher are killed at Columbine
High School in Littleton, Colorado by two students who kill
themselves at the end of their rampage.
April 1999 - Taber, Alberta - Two students are shot, one fatally
at W.R. Myers High School. The lone 14 year old gunman was a
former student of the school. He was found guilty and sentenced to
three years in a young offender center and seven years of community
supervision.
